“A realistic ballpark” – Ben Jacobs shares details on Xavi Simons asking price amid Chelsea interest

Chelsea have RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons on their radar, with €65m plus add ons thought to be a realistic price according to Ben Jacobs.

The Blues have revamped their attack this summer with the signings of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.

Despite those three signings, the prospect of another attacker joining hasn’t been entirely ruled out, with several names linked.

Xavi Simons asking price revealed

Chelsea reportedly want as many as eight or nine attacking options in their squad to rotate between next season, as they prepare for their return to the Champions League.

Noni Madueke has joined Arsenal, whilst the expectation is both Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix also leave, meaning there’s space for another attacker.

Mohammed Kudus was linked before he joined Tottenham, whilst Hugo Ekitike, who Chelsea held interest in is reportedly closing in on a move to Liverpool.

Chelsea have Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers on their list, but there appears to be a new name of interest to the Blues.

Xavi Simons has been linked with Chelsea, and it’s believed he prefers a move to the Premier League this summer.

It’s thought Chelsea are aware of Simons’ situation, and Jacobs has now provided an update on the 22-year-old.

He took to X.com and said:

“Arsenal and Chelsea both have Xavi Simons on their radar, as reported last month.

“Leipzig haven’t had any approaches or bids yet. Simons keen on a Premier League move, and to leave this summer.

Chelsea admire Morgan Rogers

Whilst Simons would be a cheaper alternative, Chelsea would reportedly like to sign Villa star Rogers, although a deal could be difficult.

Rogers is reportedly a dream target for Chelsea, but Villa are thought to want at least £80m for the England international.

Chelsea are yet to make an approach for the 22-year-old, but it could certainly be a situation to watch over the coming weeks, and he would provide another brilliant option for Enzo Maresca in attack.
