But a report from Christian Falk for CF Bayern Insider names Bayern Munich as the favourite to sign Wirtz this summer. But now Wirtz has revealed that a move abroad does appeal to him. So all of a sudden, the chance that one of Manchester City’s key targets could land at the Etihad this summer is very real.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, in quotes relayed by Fabrizio Romano on X, Florian Wirtz has explained that a move abroad appeals to him. The German international explained: “I’m lucky to have so many excellent clubs right on my doorstep and to now be able to play for one of the best clubs in Germany and Europe. It’s definitely tempting for me to leave my comfort zone at some point and experience something new. I know the football dressing rooms well enough and am convinced that I would quickly find my place anywhere.”
