No fewer than eight members of the first-team ranks at Real Madrid have on Thursday received nominations for the La Liga Team of the Season.

As much, in truth, should come as little surprise, with Carlo Ancelotti’s troops in the midst of a fine campaign, which could see them clinch the Spanish top-flight title as soon as this weekend.

Starting from the back, Andriy Lunin’s excellence in place of the sidelined Thibaut Courtois places him as a candidate between the posts.

Blancos pair Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rüdiger are also amongst the defensive nominees.

Moving into midfield, Real boast more players than any other, by way of the trio of Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos, and Jude Bellingham.

And the capital giants are also strongly represented in the attacking third, by Brazilian duo Vinícius Jr, and Rodrygo.
