3 strikers Leicester must consider signing to succeed Jamie Vardy

With Jamie Vardy moving on from the club, Leicester will need to find replacements up top. The impact of what he's meant to the Foxes will not be able to be duplicated. Getting someone who can provide the needed boost in the attack for the upcoming Championship campaign is possible.

There isn't necessarily an age limit. Bringing in someone to the East Midlands side who is on the younger side is the ideal. This upcoming season is about making a better showing, overall. A sustainable plan needs to be in place throughout the club and especially with squad decisions.

A signing who can be with LCFC and put the team in a position to earn promotion and then stay up needs to be the aim with whomever is brought in. The added further limitations of being relegated limit the financials and possibilities of who will be available to fill in the shoes of the King Power legend.

Realistic options for Leicester to consider

1. Matija Frigan

The Croatian is a 22-year-old modern-day striker. He works back and does a good job of staying between the posts. Frigan is efficient when he gets the ball in the box and isn't shy about shooting. A lot of his contemporaries, too often, take the extra touch or two, allowing for a defender to close the space, and the chance goes to waste.

Currently with Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League, he has scored nine goals in 21 starts for his club. City fans would like him because of his balance of knowing when to hang around in a dangerous position and provide a little extra hustle to give a better angle for a teammate of his to give him the ball.

2. Lucas Stassin

There's a lot to like about the Ligue 1 attacker. Currently with Saint-Étienne, the Belgian possesses a lot of great qualities in his young career. The 20-year-old is good in the air and crafty near goal. Stassin also always keeps his head up and can often create for others, setting up his teammates in a way that others at the position can't.

In 21 starts for his club, Stassin has scored 10 goals and provided four assists. His skill set and technical ability would also allow him to serve a more versatile role for City as needed. Particularly if injuries happen at key areas further up the pitch. The potential of him would make for a good long-term signing.

3. Ryan Oné

He's only 18 years old. Currently with Sheffield United, the physical traits are there for LCFC to consider taking a chance on him. He offers a physical target-striker presence and has the needed drive to compete for every 50/50 ball. For City fans who are tired of losing on long balls, adding Oné would immediately rectify this aspect for the side.

The Scottish youth international made a Premier League appearance with SHU. During the 2024-2025 campaign, Oné scored a goal for the Blades. Not even 20 yet, he's already earned two starting nods and 11 total appearances in the Championship.

Important aspect to keep in mind

Each of the players has varying levels of interest from some of the big clubs and other competing Championship sides. Considering what will be a limited budget and the current level of both Leicester and the mentioned players, these types of options are what the Foxes will need to at least strongly consider.

The club is in a difficult place at the moment. Adding the emotional loss of Vardy, as he moves on to his next endeavor, could potentially cloud the judgment of those who are looking to find the 'next Vardy.' That can't be the mindset, however, particularly in the immediate months following his announcement.

City is not in a good place at the moment, through their own undoing. Depending on what happens next, as poor as the past months have been, things can turn around in the sport just as quickly. That will only be the case if the right methodology is used in revamping the squad for the ensuing run at promotion.
