Arsenal youth striker Mika Biereth left the club on a permanent deal over the summer, joining his former loan club Sturm Graz on a contract to 2028.
Though he’d impressed and won a couple of trophies on loan, the real test was to keep that early momentum going this season. So far, it’s a test Biereth has been ready for.

Going into Wednesday’s Champions League game against Lille, the striker had 13 goals and five assists in 24 matches, including his first-ever Champions League goal in Sturm’s previous fixture against Girona.
Biereth made it two in two games on Wednesday, tapping home an equaliser as Sturm came back from 2-0 down to level at 2-2. Lille ultimately found a winner in the 81st minute, but it was another moment in the spotlight for the former Gunner.
With 19 goal contributions this season, Biereth is averaging one every 104 minutes.

Biereth admitted recently that an eventual return to Arsenal would be “fantastic”, but insisted he’s currently focused on starring for his current club.
The Gunners sold Biereth to Sturm for £4m, a club record for the Austrian side. They’ve also included a sell-on clause in the deal, so his continued progress is good news for everyone.
