10 first-team Liverpool players who may have played their LAST game

Here are 10 Liverpool players who could leave the club this summer. They may have played their final game for the Reds.

The season is over for Liverpool and that means the transfer window is very, very close to opening. The Reds will be linked with all sorts of signings but it also means a few players could leave.

That's made all the more complicated by Arne Slot becoming the new manager. Who will he like? Who won't he like? Players who don't fit into his ideas - or simply don't want to play for him - may be pushed out the door.

Who could leave, then? We've rounded up 10 players who have possibly played their final games for Liverpool.

Joel Matip

Let's get the obvious ones out of the way. Joel Matip has played his last Liverpool game and will leave with the end of his contract this summer.

Of course, that last game came all the way back in 2023 as a ligament injury ended Matip's season prematurely. He departs as an all-time great centre-back for the club and one of the greatest free transfers we've ever seen.

Thiago

Thiago is another who won't get a new contract this summer and will leave Liverpool. Like Matip, he's barely played this season - just one Premier League appearance thanks to injuries.

Those injuries - a recurring theme over his career, honestly - held Thiago back at Anfield but he still left his mark as one of the most gifted to grace its turf.

Adrian

Adrian hasn't officially announced that he's off but he did publicly talk of a desire to play in La Liga before he's done. At 37, that move would have to come soon.

His contract is up, though - we'll see what negotiations bring.

Mohamed Salah

It now sounds as though Mo Salah will remain with Liverpool. Though, there's still plenty of speculation around his future as the Saudi Pro League is certainly eager to sign him up.

The Guardian mentions him as a top target for the league this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Alisson Becker

Like Salah, Alisson Becker is a target of the Saudi Pro League. Per the Guardian, they want an elite goalkeeper in the league and he's their no.1 in that regard.

Liverpool, though, have zero incentive to sell. We'll see if that changes at all - and if Alisson even wants the move - but there are questions that need answers.

Virgil van Dijk

We don't think Virgil van Dijk will leave Liverpool but there is a chance. He's entering the final year of his contract, too, and he essentially has one more sizeable contract in him at his age.

He might push for that this summer, forcing Liverpool into a decision. After an elite season, there's going to be interest.

Luis Diaz

There has been enough noise around Luis Diaz's potential exit that there is allegedly talk about it at Liverpool's training ground. That's a sign that there's something here.

Diaz has some justification to push for a move, too, while there's reportedly interest from Barcelona. One to watch.

Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez is another we expect to ultimately stay but there's reportedly interest in him from Barcelona. A new incoming manager presents a time when Liverpool could decide to accept a large offer, especially with the Uruguayan being a Jurgen Klopp signing.

Again, we expect him to stay but it's something you'll likely hear more of this summer.

Joe Gomez

We exclusively reported earlier this month that Joe Gomez could leave Liverpool this summer. The defender is at a point in his career where he wants to be a first-choice defender and it doesn't feel like that's coming with the Reds.

Slot's arrival could change things, depending on how he views his options, but Liverpool's longest-serving player could well call time on his stay at Anfield.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Reports from the Daily Mail suggest Liverpool would sell Caoimhin Kelleher this summer if he expressed a desire to leave. The Irishman is now and will likely want to be a first-choice goalkeeper.

With Alisson in his way (we imagine), moving on may well be the only way to achieve that.
