Diego Luna – USA

A versatile player that can be deployed as an attacking midfielder or winger, Diego Luna has acquired vast experience in his young career and could have a breakout performance in the 2025 Gold Cup.

At 21, Luna is currently in his fourth season with MLS side Real Salt Lake and has established himself as an integral piece in attack, featuring week in and week out in the team’s starting lineups. In 2024, Luna’s performances earned him an MLS All-Star selection and MLS Young Player of the Year Award honors in a campaign that saw him contribute eight goals and 12 assists in league play.

Internationally, he has four senior caps to his name. He made his USMNT debut in January 2024. Luna helped his country secure the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship crown prior to starring in the team’s run to the quarterfinals at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina 2023, with a goal and three assists in five matches.

Niko Sigur – Canada

Known for his technical prowess on the ball, precise passing and versatility, Niko Sigur may come in handy for Canada head coach Jesse Marsch in midfield or at right-back. The defensive midfielder is set for his first tournament with The Reds this summer following his debut in September 2024.

The 21-year-old enters the 2025 Gold Cup after a successful 2024/25 season in Croatia with Hajduk Split, making 32 appearances across all competitions and tallying three goals and an assist. He’s played 79 matches, scoring four times and assisting twice, since being promoted to the club’s first team in 2023.

Manfred Ugalde - Costa Rica

Manfred Ugalde is looking to be one of main men in attack for Los Ticos in his Gold Cup appearance. The 23-year-old forward arrives at the tournament having most recently scored for Costa Rica in 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League group stage and in the Prelims. He’s made 20 senior international appearances, scoring six times in the process.

Ugalde has also been in fine form for his club Spartak Moscow, recently capping of a spectacular 2024/25 campaign as the Russian Premier League top scorer with 17 goals.

Mateo Chávez – Mexico

Mateo Chávez’s rapid ascent over the past year continues after making his first team debut for CD Guadalajara in January 2024 and going on to perform at a high level in 44 appearances across all competitions.

The left-back who has represented Mexico at the U-23 level may be set for his senior debut after being named in head coach Javier Aguirre’s Gold Cup roster.

His efforts earned him a move to a European club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, awaiting his debut season in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar.
