According to an update from Rodra (h/t SPORT), Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has begun his first pre-season in charge by giving opportunities to several youngsters from the reserve team.
As such, the Spanish coach, keen on blending youth with experience, has invited a number of Castilla players to train with the senior squad.
Among the standout names is Manuel Angel, a 21-year-old midfielder who joined Real Madrid’s setup back in 2018.
Having developed through the ranks at Valdebebas, he featured in 17 matches for Castilla last season.
Despite being called up for the first session with the senior squad, his participation remains uncertain due to the physical discomfort he is currently dealing with.
Another highly-rated talent brought into the fold is 18-year-old defender Diego Aguado.

It must be noted that clubs like Borussia Dortmund have reportedly shown interest in securing the youngster’s services this summer, but Alonso has intervened to block any immediate transfer.
Aguado already made his first-team debut under Carlo Ancelotti last season, starting in the Copa del Rey clash against Deportiva Minera on 6 January, and he is expected to continue working closely with the senior team.
Lastly, Daniel Yanez, an 18-year-old right winger, has also received the nod from Alonso. He made his senior debut on 7 December 2024, coming on in the 88th minute of a La Liga game against Girona to replace Arda Guler.
Thewinger had a solid 2024/25 campaign, scoring five goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
With Alonso looking to reshape the identity of his Real Madrid side, his early emphasis on youth involvement is a strong statement.
As the season gets underway, these young talents could be given valuable opportunities to impress not just in training, but potentially on the pitch in competitive fixtures.
