It’s going down to the wire in the Women’s Super League with only two matchdays remaining.

Here’s what went down on Sunday across England.

Title race drama as Arsenal stun City

Scorers: Hemp 17′; Blackstenius 89′, 90+2′

The title race took yet another twist as Arsenal crushed Manchester City hearts with a stunning comeback.

Gareth Taylor’s side were in the drivers seat most of the match and needed a moment of brilliance from Lauren Hemp to open to scoring.

A quick swivel in the box and left footed shot into the bottom corner beat Manuela Zinsberger before Hemp ran and celebrated with Steph Houghton.

Arsenal, meanwhile, attempted to pull some strings but lacked a finishing touch. The Gunners registered just one lonely shot on goal in the first half.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser after the break but Beth Mead, Katie McCabe and Stina Blackstenius again couldn’t find the right touch.

City appeared to cut out every final movement from the Gunners and held on to their slim lead. That was until Arsenal’s persistence prevailed.

Blackstenius proved to be the hero off the bench and poked home the equaliser before heading home the eventual winner in the blink of an eye.

It means Arsenal are up to second in the table behind City (Chelsea play later on today). The final day of the season is going to be mad!

Liverpool edge past Man Utd

A huge rivalry took place in Liverpool as the Reds managed to scrape by Manchester United in their final home match of the season.

Tied on points it was always gong to be a nervy affair and there appeared to be more challenges than true chances. Ceri Holland, in particular, kept Mary Earps on her toes.

Things then took a negative and positive turn for the hosts just before the break.

After Emma Koivisto was slammed into the advertising boards, manager Matt Beard shared his frustrations about the challenge with the referee and was shown red.

Yet even without their boss, the Reds managed to find a breakthrough when Jenna Clark’s header finally beat Earps.

Manchester United made a handful of changes after the break to try and find an equaliser, however, the introduction of Melvine Malard, Hayley Ladd, and others couldn’t inspire.

Goalkeeper Teagan Micah was forced to make a late save on Malard, but the visitors still finished with just three shots on target.

The result means Liverpool leapfrogged Manchester United into fourth with one match to go for both.
