FLW takes a look at all the latest news from The Racecourse

Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over at Wrexham, it's fair to say that things at The Racecourse are never quiet, and it's remained that way recently, despite no match action.

The Red Dragons are preparing for life in League One after recently winning two consecutive promotions, and it's set to be a busy summer at The Racecourse as Wrexham look to compete for promotion to the second tier.

Wrexham recently announced the permanent signing of Arthur Okonkwo from Arsenal, and that will likely open the floodgates for more to come in the coming weeks and months.

With that in mind, here is all the latest news from The Racecourse...

Ryan Reynolds responds to Birmingham City fixture request

Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has responded to Birmingham City's request to play their home League One fixture in the United States.

The Daily Mail reported that the Blues' owners wanted to move the fixture across the Atlantic, and despite it being an away game for the Red Dragons, supporters were still unhappy that Wrexham were the side they wished to play in the US.

However, via X, Reynolds explained that no talks had taken place between himself and Birmingham minority owner Tom Brady.

This will be music to the ears of Wrexham supporters, who were potentially concerned about the club's owners cashing in on their ever-increasing supporter base across the Atlantic.

James McClean praises Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds

Wrexham winger James McClean has praised the club's owners, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, describing working with them as "what you see is what you get."

The Irishman was talking on RTE's Euros coverage, and he explained just what it's like playing for Wrexham and their celebrity owners.

He said: “They are pretty much well involved, two brilliant lads, no airs and graces, what you see is what you get, and they are quite involved. Even through text messages after games and that, they like to know what's going on on a daily basis, and they are involved a lot.

"When people ask me, the best way I can describe it is that it's mad, but if it makes sense, it's a good mad. It's also not a gimmick, things are done very well. We have had two promotions back to back, and we have to back that claim up, but it's been really, really enjoyable."

The former Wigan man also spoke about how much he's looking forward to the club's pre-season tour to North America, having missed it last year thanks to joining in August.

He said: “We have got two games in LA and one game in Canada, so it's something that I'm looking forward to. Speaking to the lads that went last year on the pre-season trip, they said it was brilliant, a great experience, and they said that they were treated like movie stars - pardon the pun."

Wrexham face competition to sign Brighton man

Wrexham transfer target Marc Leonard is set to leave Brighton this summer, but is attracting interest from MLS side Los Angeles FC, and Danish side Copenhagen, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Red Dragons are one of a number of clubs who have been linked with the young Scottish midfielder who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Northampton Town, and it's clear that they face stiff competition if they're to get a deal over the line for him.

It was reported by TeamTalk in May that Leonard was attracting interest from Wrexham, along with the likes of Championship sides Hull City, Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End.

Wrexham are clearly an attractive club to join currently thanks to the feel-good factor at the club, but the likes of LAFC and Copenhagen are clearly attractive propositions, and their interest could well be a blow to the Red Dragons' hopes of signing him.

Young defender Harry Dean has committed his future to Wrexham by signing his first professional contract.

The 18-year-old has made over 50 appearances for the club's youth sides over the last two seasons and helped the club's U18 side finish runners-up in the EFL Youth Alliance North-West Division last season.
