Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira has refused to rule out an exit for Jorgen Strand Larsen amid links with Newcastle United.

Strand Larsen has been named as a potential target for Newcastle, who are keen to sign at least one forward before the September 1st deadline.

The Magpies have seen Callum Wilson depart for West Ham, while Alexander Isak is currently on striker as he looks to engineer a transfer to Liverpool.

Anthony Gordon started as an auxiliary forward last weekend and signing a recognised number nine is a priority for Eddie Howe’s side.

Strand Larsen joined Wolves on a permanent deal this summer, after an impressive loan in 2023/24. He scored 14 league goals during his debut campaign and is valued at around £60m at Molineux.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Bournemouth, Pereira said he had not spoken with the Norwegian about his future. However, he said anything is possible while the window remains open.

“He is a very important player for us. I haven’t spoken with him about it. He is committed to the team. I watch him in training and he is committed. He likes to win and he is a fighter. He is preparing himself to play tomorrow [against Bournemouth],” he said at his pre-match press conference.

When whether Wolves can afford to lose another key player after the departures of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, he added: “The market is the market. As long as the window is open, players can come and players can leave. This is football.

“I believe we will still have a good team left. We are in the process of building our way of playing, especially because we have new players for this season. We have lost some players but we still have players that have always been in the first XI.

“We need to connect everybody. We know what we are doing and what our vision is for the future, so the players ware working very hard and in a way that I like – because of that I’m positive [about this group].”
