Sky Germany report that Wolves and Sunderland are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund defender Julian Ryerson, with both clubs enquiring about signing the Norwegian.

The 27-year-old only extended his contract with Dortmund until 2028 in June but it’s not yet known whether Ryerson will pursue his dream of playing in the Premier League, or remain loyal to Borussia Dortmund – the club he joined from Union Berlin for €5m in July 2022.

During his time at Borussia Dortmund, Ryerson has played 101 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing six assists – and while not the flashiest of players, remains integral to die Schwarzgelben and also Niko Kovac who plays with wing-backs.

With a market value of €20m, per Transfermarkt, it would take a significant fee for Borussia Dortmund to even consider selling Ryerson. And should Sunderland pursue the wing-back, it would be their second purchase from the Bundesliga following their promotion after signing Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen last month.
