Lukas Nmecha endured an injury his Bundesliga campaign last season, managing just 455 minutes, but the German believes those worries are behind him. Now, German forward can imagine extending his deal at Wolfsburg beyond June 2025, according to Kicker.
The player’s contract expires at the end of the season and both parties can imagine an extension. However, VfL have offered the player a performance-based contract owing to his previous injuries, therefore taking less of a risk. If the Lower Saxony club improve their offer, then it’s likely that he will remain at the club despite offers from Germany and England.
Per Kicker, Wolfsburg are happy to increase their initial offer but the performance-based nature of the contract will remain. Whether or not the 26-year-old stays at the club beyond June could also depend on the club’s next coach, whom is set to be appointed imminently with Copenhagen’s Jacob Neestrup at the top of their list.
