Recent reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach have sealed a deal to acquire Indonesian international Kevin Diks appear to once again be false.
Kicker journalist Thomas Hiete reports that Germany’s green company team are also in the race to bring the 28-year-old FC Copenhagen professional to the Bundesliga.
Hiete notes that Wolfsburg’s Danish managing director Peter Christiansen twice personally recruited Diks to Danish sides AGF Aarhus and FC Copenhagen.
Wolfsburg find themselves in need of more centre-backs after Cedric Zesiger was recently loaned out to Augsburg. Sebastiaan Bornauw reportedly also wants out either this month or after the season.
On the incoming transfer front, Wolfsburg remain in negotiations with both disaffected SC Freiburg fullback Kiliann Sildillia and Christiansen’s Danish compatriot Andreas Skov Olsen.
The latter transfer could prove quite expensive. Should Christiansen land his most prized target, the VfL administrative team may lay off all other recruitment efforts.
