Wojciech Szczęsny confirms his status for Barcelona vs Sevilla | OneFootball

Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has on Friday spoken out regarding his availability for the club’s upcoming meeting with Sevilla.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course primed to mark their post-international break return to action this coming Sunday.

After rattling off eight wins from nine to open the La Liga campaign, Barcelona will set about making it nine wins from ten when they welcome the aforementioned Sevilla to Catalunya’s capital.

And, in their efforts towards as much, the Blaugrana could yet call upon a season debutant.

This comes amid confirmation that the aforementioned Wojciech Szczęsny is fit and ready to feature from the off on Sunday.

Brought in as a free agent following the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, Szczęsny has spent the last couple of weeks working towards match sharpness at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

And, speaking in an interview with 3Cat, as cited by Diario Sport, on Friday, the Pole announced that he is now up to speed, with it ‘the manager’s decision’ whether it is he or Iñaki Peña who features from the off against Sevilla:

“I have been preparing for the last two weeks to be ready. Whether I play or not is the manager’s decision and I have to respect it. But I am training to play in the match and I am mentally ready.”
