I have supported Liverpool for forty years. I have seen everything from league wins to near-misses, from Istanbul to Covid-era titles. But right now, in this moment, it feels as good as it has ever been.
Florian Wirtz is a Liverpool player. Not rumoured, not chased, but signed. He chose us ahead of Madrid, Bayern and City. That alone is huge. But what matters more is how Liverpool did it. Calm, focused and professional. No fuss, no flash, just business handled like a superclub.
Richard Hughes moved early and negotiated with clarity. £100 million upfront, £16 million in performance-based add-ons. Leverkusen respected our approach. Wirtz saw the plan and bought into it. He trained at Kirkby last November, and the impression stayed with him. When it mattered, he knew where he wanted to be.
Wirtz is not a hope, he is a finished product with room to grow. Bundesliga Player of the Season. Dozens of goals and assists. He walks into Anfield ready to perform. Slot has plans to build the team around him. And he fits into a wider recruitment strategy that includes Frimpong, Kerkez and more.
It is all part of a structure that makes sense. No scattergun transfers, no short-term thinking. Just targeted moves, guided by a clear vision of how Liverpool want to play and win.

This is what happens when a club builds from the top. After winning the title, Liverpool have not stood still. They are accelerating. And the Wirtz deal is the clearest sign yet. The message to the players, the fans and the rest of Europe is the same: we are not done.
This feels like the beginning of a new cycle. A young star, a new manager with authority, and a club moving with total conviction. I have waited forty years to feel this certain about the future.
And right now, it feels like the one.
