Florian Wirtz will wear the number seven shirt for Liverpool as the club’s brand new home and away kits were revealed on Friday morning.
The German playmaker had worn no.10 for Bayer Leverkusen before his £116m transfer this summer, but that number is currently taken by Alexis McAllister. The no.7 was previously worn by Luis Diaz, who has joined Bayern Munich.
Squad numbers for the rest of Liverpool‘s new signings were also announced, with Hugo Ekitike taking the no.22, Jeremie Frimpong the no.30, Milos Kerkez the no.6, and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili the no.25. Conor Bradley has also seen his number changed from 84 to 12.
Adidas have produced their first Liverpool in 13 years, revealing a home kit that is said to represent “the club’s DNA in its purest form” with a dark strawberry red colourway and the classic Liverbird crest.
The away kit colours are “a cream off-white base with black and red detailing,” while the crest sits inside a shield, taking “inspiration from the main stand at the original Anfield stadium from 1906”.
