Juventus’ pursuit of Jonathan David remains at the centre of their summer transfer planning but is currently held up by the unresolved future of Dusan Vlahovic, according to reporting from Sky Sport, Tutto Juve, and JNetwork24.

Despite widespread speculation that Vlahovic could move on, Juventus have yet to receive any formal offers for the Serbian forward. Sky Sport reports that the situation is in limbo, with Vlahovic signalling his intention to see out his contract rather than facilitate a transfer. Some within the club are frustrated by the prospect of the striker running down his deal, knowing that his continued presence is blocking immediate reinforcements in attack.

The name on top of Juventus’ list for that position is Jonathan David. Contacts with the Canadian’s representatives have been ongoing for weeks, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, with multiple meetings taking place between David’s camp and the Juventus board. However, Tutto Juve notes that negotiations have not advanced to the stage of discussing detailed salary figures or commission structures. While Juventus rate David highly from a sporting perspective, they remain in a period of reflection regarding the size and structure of the potential investment.

Romano explains the club is weighing up the move carefully from both technical and strategic standpoints, and David’s agents are waiting for a concrete signal from Juventus. The player, for his part, has made it known that he is open to joining but is also fielding alternative proposals abroad. Notably, there is no prospect of a move to Napoli, removing one possible competitor from the equation.

Despite the slow pace, the framework of a deal for David appears close to agreement in principle, with reports that the Bianconeri would be willing to offer a salary of €7 million. Nevertheless, Tutto Juve points out that the club first needs to resolve Vlahovic’s future before finalising anything.

With the Serbian’s situation unresolved and no clear timetable for progress, Juventus remain in a holding pattern. Until a decisive shift occurs—whether through an incoming offer or a change of stance from Vlahovic—the move for Jonathan David cannot move forward meaningfully.

For now, the transfer window in Turin is defined by this standstill, as the club weighs up its next steps in what promises to be a key juncture for their attacking rebuild.
