Barcelona star Dani Olmo was recently the subject of a genetic study on the part of the club’s medical department.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards as much as having come ‘with the aim of improving his reliability and preventing possible injuries’.
Olmo has of course endured a somewhat difficult debut campaign back with Barcelona to date.
Though the Spanish international has largely impressed when on the pitch, his integration into boss Hansi Flick’s setup has been hampered by a number of fitness problems.
Barcelona, in turn, recently took action, in an effort to reduce such issues moving forward.
After seeing great success with a similar route for Pedri, the Blaugrana put Olmo through a personalised genetic study.
The results proved to be of a positive nature, allowing the coaching team in Catalunya’s capital to draw up a personalised training programme for the 26-year-old.
As per MD:
‘With this information, the coaching staff will be able to adjust his preparation to maximize his potential without compromising his physical condition, establishing strategies that strengthen his muscles in a preventive manner.’
