Reports in Italy claim that former Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund could now be made available for a loan move to either Juventus or Milan now that Bryan Mbeumo is on the ground and completing his move from Brentford to Manchester United.

Hojlund, who left Atalanta to join United in a deal in excess of €80m in the summer of 2023, has been linked with a return to Serie A for most of the summer after a slightly underwhelming first two seasons at Old Trafford, which brought 16 goals across all competitions in his first year and 10 in his second.

Several Serie A sides have been linked with a move for the Denmark international this summer: Firstly Inter, who had been on the search for new attackers to compete with Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Mehdi Taremi before striking a deal for Ange-Yoan Bonny.

More recently, Juventus and Milan have also been linked with moves for the 22-year-old.

All three, however, have been interested in pursuing a loan deal with a potential option to buy included for the end of the season, which United have thus far been reluctant to accept.

However, according to reports from Calciomercato.com, United could now agree to allow Hojlund to leave on loan now that they have brought in Matheuus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

The latter was pictured in Manchester for his contract signing on Sunday, and is expected to be unveiled in the near future.

Given the fee that United spent on Hojlund two years ago, he is still valued in the region of €45m as things stand in the summer of 2025.

United could now also be open to the idea of sending Hojlund out on an initial loan deal, with Sunday’s reports suggesting that a conditional obligation to buy for the end of the 2025-26 season, linked to Champions League qualification, could be enough to seal the deal.
