Simone Inzaghi’s Inter are fighting on three fronts, and Italian media have already compared them to the 2010 team that won the Treble under José Mourinho.
The Nerazzurri secured a memorable 2-1 away win against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, gaining a considerable advantage in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
The defending Serie A champions are the current league leaders in Italy and are still involved in the Coppa Italia. In other words, they are one of the few European clubs still running for the Treble in 2024-25.
Inter are the only Serie A club to have ever won a treble, an achievement they fulfilled in 2010 under Mourinho.

Mourinho’s side’s resilience in big European matches was matched by Inzaghi’s men at the Allianz Arena last night, prompting Italian media to compare the current squad to Mou’s 2010 team.
“Under Inzaghi, Inter has regained a strong European identity, which unites the environment, including the fans and the players,” wrote Calciomercato.com.
“Mourinho and Inzaghi’s Inter are different, yet they have the same foundation and desire to challenge opponents who, on paper, are stronger.”
Mourinho’s Inter famously qualified for the 2010 Champions League Final, beating Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona in the semis.
The Nerazzurri were reduced to ten men in the second-leg match at the Camp Nou but still managed to win the tie despite keeping just 27% possession in Barcelona.
Last night, the Nerazzurri had 45% possession against Bayern Munich’s 55% and produced four shots on target against Bayern’s seven.
The return leg will be played at San Siro on April 16 next week.
