The boss of the R's is reportedly unsatisfied with some of the inner workings of Loftus Road.
Marti Cifuentes has reiterated his belief that Queens Park Rangers, as a club, has huge potential amid shock reports that he wants to leave the club.
A story from The Sun this week stated that Cifuentes was considering quitting QPR due to a breakdown in relationship between himself and the club's CEO Christian Nourry.
Certain aspects of the way the club has been run this season, including the way Nourry's handling of the recruitment side of things and that, despite the first-team's continuous injury struggles, the director of performance, Ben Williams, was allowed to work remotely from Dubai.
The Spaniard and his assistant, Xavi Calm, signed new multi-year deals with QPR in September, but the manager is clearly ambitious and even publicly stated after their loss to Swansea City on Easter Monday that he needed assurances on the club's desire to take steps in the right direction going forward, as per The Sun.
Cifuentes lifted the lid a little bit on what is next for him and the club in his pre-Burnley press conference. He said that he will talk to the CEO about his desires for next season, and made sure to state that he believes that QPR can grow into something bigger.
"I need to sit with Christian," the Spaniard told West London Sport. "We need to decide and see what is the plan, what he wants, what are his ideas. With how demanding it's been in the last few weeks, I was very focused on trying to achieve the target.
"I obviously have my thoughts and my ideas on how we can improve, and I've said many times, for me, that QPR, as a club, has an amazing potential. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to come here because I feel that the fantastic training ground, the location, the history, not only the history but the identity and the style of football that this club has played in the past, it fit very well into my ideas.
"It has a very solid foundation to take bigger steps, so don't misunderstand me. I think what we have achieved this season is remarkable. It's a big achievement, especially with how difficult it has been. I told you before, 22 seasons of coaching and this has been the most difficult and demanding one so far, for many reasons.
"But I think that the foundation for next season is good, it's just about taking the right decisions. As I always say, in the edge, it's always going to be difficult to compete against parachute (payment) teams coming down from the Premier League.
"We need to find this edge to take the next step because I think the supporters, as well, since I came it's been amazing support and I would like to give them something to celebrate.
"Another season in the Championship is not easy, but I think that there is potential to try and take, at least, the next step."
QPR have known that they've had a hot property on their hands since soon after the Spaniard first arrived at Loftus Road. He's been courted by other Championship clubs in the past, particularly Sunderland, who he was heavily linked with.
They didn't want to pay his release clause at the time and eventually went for Regis Le Bris, but it was no surprise to see a team with promotion aspirations going after Cifuentes.
You've got to imagine the new deal he signed in September gives the R's even more protection against clubs, like Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion, who are currently managerless, from taking the former Hammarby boss. If so, it was a very smart play by the CEO and everyone else involved on the club's side of things.
