Gianluigi Donnarumma looks set to complete a move to Manchester City and whilst the transfer window slammed shut earlier this evening without an official announcement, it still looks likely that the Italian will join Pep Guardiola’s side on a five-year deal with an optional one year extension.

In the Premier League, clubs can submit a ‘deal sheet’ for any potential transfer, giving the clubs a brief extra window after the deadline to finalise and submit any paperwork for ongoing deals.

Manchester City submitted their deal sheet to the league for the Donnarumma transfer, whilst reports claim that Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson will depart the club for Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce.

Will Donnarumma join Manchester City?

Despite the deadline bringing this summer’s transfer window to an end, Manchester City fans can rest easy in the knowledge that barring any late twists or surprises, Donnarumma will end up in the sky blue colours of the Premier League giants.

Ederson will leave the club, leaving Donnarumma likely to be the team’s number one – despite the arrival of James Trafford from Burnley earlier in the summer. The Turkish transfer window does not shut until September 12, giving Fenerbahce a bit of extra time to finalise the deal to sign the Brazilian – but this is not likely to delay City any further in their pursuit of Donnarumma.

For now, we wait. City may not announce the deal until tomorrow but for all intents and purposes, Gianluigi Donnarumma is a new tool at the disposal of legendary coach Guardiola.
