Chelsea will debut a new front-of-shirt sponsor during tonight’s match against Djurgarden.
The Blues are in the Swedish capital of Stockholm for the first leg of their Conference League semi-final tie on an artificial pitch at the 3Arena that has been strongly criticised.
And fans will notice that Chelsea’s shirts will include a main sponsor for the first time this season after a deal with DAMAC Properties was announced on Wednesday.
Chelsea have been without a front-of-shirt sponsor all season so far, with previous sponsors Infinite Athlete now having their logo on the sleeves of the club’s training kit instead as part of a long-term partnership with the sports technology company that reportedly was worth £40million after being agreed in September 2023.
Chelsea continued with Infinite Athlete on the front of their shirts during pre-season, but have played without a sponsor for all of the campaign proper to date - but that will change on Thursday night in Sweden.
On Wednesday, Chelsea announced a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with DAMAC Properties that covers the rest of the current season - both semi-final legs against Djurgarden and their remaining four Premier League matches against Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, as well as a potential Conference League final appearance.
The agreement does not include this summer’s inaugural expanded Club World Cup in the United States, with Chelsea still in talks with other companies about potential sponsorship for that competition and beyond into next season.
DAMAC are a Dubai-based property development company formed in 2002 by the DAMAC Group of Companies.
Focused on luxury properties in the Middle East, DAMAC say they are “renowned for creating projects that blend innovative design with exceptional amenities, offering an unparalleled living experience in prime locations around the globe”.
DAMAC are also partnering with Chelsea to build ‘Chelsea Residences by DAMAC’, the first-ever football-themed branded residences coming in Maritime City in Dubai.
“DAMAC are world renowned in building luxury properties, and we are thrilled to be working with the industry leader to bring to market a first-of-its-kind branded Chelsea FC residence in Dubai,” said Chelsea’s chief operating officer Jason Gannon.
“With the club located in the heart of London, the collaboration will bring Chelsea to life in Dubai, support our continued growth on the global stage. We can’t wait to see Chelsea Residences take its place in the Dubai skyline.”
DAMAC Properties’ managing director of sales and development, Amira Sajwani, said: “This launch marks the first of an elite collection that celebrates not just the passion of Chelsea FC but its enduring legacy, innovative spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence.
“This initiative goes beyond celebrating the beautiful game; it sets a new benchmark for those who expect nothing less than the exceptional, every time.”
