Graham Potter is under immediate pressure to get a response from his West Ham side as they prepare for their first home game of the season against Chelsea on Friday.
The Hammers are looking to bounce back from a dismal 3-0 opening-day defeat to Sunderland, and the manager could make changes to his starting 11 for this crucial London derby.
After a poor defensive performance at Sunderland, Graham Potter may choose to make changes to his starting backline. Konstantinos Mavropanos is a candidate to come into central defence and add more steel.
Further up the pitch, more significant changes are expected. Tomáš Souček and Callum Wilson, who both came off the bench at the Stadium of Light, are pushing hard for starts. Souček would bring his experience and physicality to the midfield, while Wilson would offer a proven goalscoring threat to lead the line.
Despite the poor result, new signings Mads Hermansen and El Hadji Diouf are expected to retain their places while Kyle Walker-Peters awaits his competitive debut in Claret and Blue.
West Ham United predicted XI: Hermansen; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Aguerd, Diouf; Souček, Ward-Prowse; Bowen, Paquetá; Füllkrug.
The Premier League fixture takes place at the London Stadium on Friday, 22nd August 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. Coverage begins at 7pm BST, and subscribers can also stream the action live via the Sky Go app.
