Tammy Abraham’s return to the Premier League appears imminent, with West Ham United among the clubs showing strong interest in signing the former Chelsea striker. According to TEAMtalk, the English forward is set to leave Serie A after a mixed spell in Italy, and a move back to England is firmly on the cards. With West Ham making early enquiries, could the Hammers be the ones to secure his signature?
After leaving Chelsea in 2021, Abraham initially thrived at AS Roma, scoring goals and becoming a key player under then-manager José Mourinho. However, injuries and managerial changes hindered his progress, preventing him from fully realising his potential in Serie A.
In the summer of 2024, Abraham made a loan switch to AC Milan, where he has since registered eight goals and four assists in 35 appearances. However, Milan have no plans to make the deal permanent, meaning he will return to Roma at the end of the season. “Milan, who are expected to see a real revolution in the squad and management in the summer, have no intention of making Abraham’s loan deal permanent,” reports TEAMtalk.

With Roma extending his contract until 2027 to maintain control over his transfer value, it is clear the Italian club intends to cash in this summer. Their strategy is simple: sell Abraham and reinvest in a fresh striking option.
West Ham’s interest in Abraham makes perfect sense given their need for a reliable striker. While Michail Antonio has been a fantastic servant to the club, injuries and age have impacted his consistency. The addition of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen has provided goals, but David Moyes would undoubtedly welcome a natural centre-forward with Abraham’s profile.
TEAMtalk states: “West Ham recently asked for preliminary information on the situation of Abraham.” This indicates that discussions have already begun, and the player himself is open to a return. “We understand that the striker himself is open to a return to the Premier League in the summer of 2025.”
With English strikers becoming a rare commodity, West Ham’s pursuit of Abraham is logical. His combination of Premier League experience, goal-scoring ability, and physicality would make him an ideal addition to the squad. He knows the league, he knows London, and he would likely settle in quickly.

West Ham are not alone in their pursuit of Abraham. Everton are also monitoring the situation, with TEAMtalk confirming that the Toffees have made similar enquiries. “Like the Hammers, the Toffees have also asked for preliminary information on the situation of the former Chelsea striker.”
Other clubs such as Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, and Fulham have been linked, while Leeds United’s interest hinges on their potential promotion back to the Premier League. However, Abraham is in no rush to make a decision. “Sources have told us that Abraham is not going to rush into making a decision and will carefully consider all offers and projects before choosing his next club.”
With competition for his signature heating up, West Ham will need to move swiftly if they want to secure the 27-year-old ahead of their rivals.
For West Ham fans, this is an exciting development. Tammy Abraham is the type of striker that could take the Hammers to the next level.
Since the departure of Sebastien Haller, the club has lacked a true, clinical No.9. While Antonio has filled the role admirably, his playing style is different, and West Ham’s attacking unit would benefit from a more traditional striker. Abraham offers just that – pace, power, Premier League experience, and a knack for scoring goals in big moments.
Moreover, Abraham’s ability to hold up play and bring others into the game would complement the attacking talents of Kudus and Bowen. Imagine the link-up play between those three – it has the potential to be electric!
The main concern will be the financial aspect of the deal. Roma will want to make a profit, meaning the Hammers may need to pay upwards of £40m to land their man. However, with Premier League money and European ambitions, West Ham should be willing to invest.
If the club can get this deal over the line, it would be a huge statement of intent. Abraham has unfinished business in England, and if he rediscovers his best form, West Ham could have a top-class striker leading their line for years to come.
