WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers this morning.
The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland international has signed on with the East Londoners for two more years. As part of her ongoing development, Stapleton will join Barclays WSL2 club Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2025/2026 season.
Stapleton is one for the future at West Ham United. She joined the club from Shelbourne in summer 2023 and has spent time out on loan with Reading and Sunderland in recent seasons. Stapleton will be hoping that her latest loan spell at Nottingham Forest will help her push for first team honours back at West Ham United in the future.
After signing her new deal, Stapleton said “It’s an honour to sign a new contract at West Ham United. I’ve been here for two years now and the Club has been superb for me in that time, both on and off the pitch.
“I’ve had two beneficial loan spells over the last two seasons and it’s clear that the Club have a development plan in place for me.
“I’m really excited to be joining Nottingham Forest on loan this season. It’s another great opportunity to get some consistent game time, help the team achieve their goals and continue my own personal development.
“I’ve grown so much as a person since I arrived in East London and that’s down to the experiences I’ve had and the support that I’ve received from the Club. I see my long-term future here so it was a no-brainer to sign a new deal.”
Further squad news will be revealed by West Ham United in due course.
