As the post alluded to, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to defy logic.

Having last month celebrated his 40th birthday, the Al Nassr captain has barely skipped a beat. On Friday, in what ultimately was a 2-2 draw at home with Al Shabab in the Riyadh derby, Ronaldo drove home an emphatic finish to send Al Awwal Park wild in celebration.

Ronaldo had his 18th goal of this Roshn Saudi League season, pulling two clear at the top of the 2024-25 scoring charts. Thus, he remains in pole position to retain the golden boot he clinched last term by setting a fresh RSL record.

Yet, the strike against Al Shabab brought with it another milestone mark. It represented Ronaldo’s 463rd goal since he turned 30, matching the total that arguably football’s greatest-ever goalscorer had netted before that landmark birthday.

So, when most players are said to have past their peak, Ronaldo has remained astoundingly prolific. He is now officially just as potent in front of goal post-30 as he was pre-.

However, the draw at home to Al Shabab was not quite as gratifying. It kept Al Nassr fourth in the RSL table, 10 points off Al Ittihad at the summit with 10 rounds of the season remaining.

Ronaldo, as has been the case for most of his incredible career, still strikes a defiant chord.

"We will keep fighting!", he later posted on social media.

Clearly, he is chasing both individual and collective success this campaign. And you can rest assured he will soon surpass his before-30s goal haul, taking his professional tally to 927 and beyond.

Further, and as if it was needed, it will once more reinforce that Ronaldo is far from done yet.
