But Carlo Ancelotti’s fumbled, as they were held to a 3-3 draw at Estadio de Vallecas, handing a major reprieve to the Blaugrana, who could now stretch their lead at the top to four points with a win over Leganes on Sunday.

On paper, it was expected that it would be an easy win for the Catalans, more so given they were playing at home in Montjuic. But it was not to be as Barcelona suffered an upset 0-1 defeat on Sunday, failing to take advantage of Real Madrid’s lapse.

Antonio Rudiger mocks Barcelona after Leganes result

This setback triggered a reaction that has gone viral on social media. Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger was caught in a video mocking Barcelona’s defeat to Leganes.

The incident occurred during a Red Bull event, and the footage was shared on the Snapchat account of an influencer.

In the video, the German centre-back is seen laughing and showing the result of the Blaugrana’s game on Sunday on his phone.

Barcelona now have 38 points from 18 La Liga matches – same as second-placed Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand and face the Catalans later this week.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are third in the standings, one point behind Barça and Atleti, also with a game in hand over the current leaders.
