Blues boss Enzo Maresca officially took the young pair under his charge in the changing room in front of the senior squad, with George and Acheampong receiving cheers and applause from the team.

They follow in the footsteps of a cadre of gifted players who walked that same path, including Conor Gallagher, Reece James, Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount, and Marc Guéhi.
