He was rightfully named the best player on the pitch and expressed his satisfaction with his performance.

During the match, Vinicius Jr. was heavily involved in the action. He had a total of 55 touches and was remarkably efficient, converting both of his attempts into goals.

Additionally, he completed seven impressive dribbles, showcasing his agility and skill on the ball. He also made two crucial passes that contributed to Brazil’s overall play.

One for the team

After the match, Vinicius spoke about his motivations and dedication to the team. He emphasized that his primary focus is always on playing for the team and representing his country, Brazil, rather than seeking personal glory.

“I always say that I never play for myself, for the team, for Brazil, for my country, I always try to do the best things, but it’s not always possible,” said Vinicius as quoted by Globo.

He expressed his happiness with his performance and highlighted that his abilities could significantly benefit his national team in future games, especially after being criticised for his past performances.

“Today I played a great game, I know I can improve a lot to help the national team, this team that wants to put Brazil in the place it deserves,” he added.

Vinicius also reflected on the challenges they faced in their previous game, where Brazil drew 0-0 against Costa Rica.

He criticized Conmebol, pointing out the difficulties posed by the pitch conditions and the refereeing. According to him, these factors often work against the team, making the competition even more challenging.

“The Copa America is always complicated by the pitch, by the referees who are always the opposite, by the way they treat us, but we have to keep going, we can only talk if we win, when we talk Conmebol says we talk too much,” he said.
