La Liga outfit Villarreal are continuing to sweat over the availability of a key member of the club’s frontline for this weekend’s return to action.
The final round of fixtures leading into the international break are of course set to play out over the days ahead.
Villarreal, for their part, face a daunting task, by way of a trip to the Spanish capital to take on reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid.
In efforts to condemn Carlo Ancelotti’s troops to a 2nd defeat on the spin, though, the Yellow Submarine may well be forced to make do without their leading scorer.
The player in question? Ayoze Pérez.
Frontman Ayoze of course made the move to La Cerámica over the summer, since racking up six goals in seven league outings.
After sitting out on Monday against Las Palmas, however, the 31-year-old is yet to return to training, owing to a muscular concern.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Villarreal held their latest training session on Thursday in preparation for the match at the Santiago Bernabéu, in which Ayoze Pérez was not present, with a muscular problem and who seems to have a difficult time playing [against Real Madrid].’
