Villarreal join race for Tottenham target Arnaud Kalimuendo | OneFootball

Following Tottenham’s initial interest, Villarreal are now exploring the possibility of signing Rennes forward Arnaud Kalimuendo (23), according to a report from L’Équipe.

Despite receiving a green light to leave from Rennes’ hierarchy, Kalimuendo remains under contract with the Breton club until 2027. Spurs opened discussions with Stade Rennais earlier this summer, but negotiations have yet to progress towards a formal offer.

Now, La Liga side Villarreal have entered the fray, enquiring about the feasibility of a deal. The Yellow Submarine are looking to reinforce their attack following the departure of Thierno Barry to Everton.

Kalimuendo is coming off a strong 2024/25 campaign, scoring 18 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions. His performances have reignited interest abroad, and Rennes are braced for further contact from potential suitors.
