Chelsea have stepped things up a gear physically in the second half here in Poland, and they’ve scored two brilliant late goals to steam clear of Real Betis.
First up it was Jadon Sancho. The winger had only just come on as a sub, but found himself played in down the left wing against a tiring Betis defence. He checked inside and whipped a shot on his right high into the net. A superb effort, and one which he celebrated wildly by removing his shirt.

Moises Caicedo drills in a shot.
Next it was Moises Caicedo who was rewarded for a great second half in the middle of the park. Enzo Fernandez drove down the left flank, then picked out his midfield partner steaming through the middle. Caicedo smashed a shot in which nicked off Nathan and flew past Adrian.
A great final goal of the season to reward the club’s player of the season.

Chelsea showed great heart to come back from a slow start and not panic even when Betis were so close to scoring a second. Chelsea’s pace and power was just too much for them in the end.
It’s ironic, really, given Betis played on Friday night and Enzo Maresca wasn’t happy about their extra rest. In the end it was the Spanish side who suddenly ran out of petrol, while Chelsea went through the gears as the game wore on.
Credit to them, they played us off the park in the first half, and if they’d put that second chance away, it might be them lifting the trophy.
