Roma supporters have begun congregating outside the Stadio Olimpico ahead of a planned protest against the club’s management following a hectic week in the capital. ‘Whoever loves Roma enters half an hour late,’ reads one of the banners.
Ultras from the Curva Sud have invited other sections of the fanbase to join them in boycotting the first half-hour of Ivan Juric’s first game in charge.
Several banners have been spotted in the build-up to the game, including on e that reads: ‘DDR is Roman and dignified, at Trigoria, only silence and infamy’.
Other supporter groups have decided to watch the full game, but keep their support quiet until the second half.
The protests have come after a chaotic week at Trigoria, which has seen club legend Daniele De Rossi dismissed from his role as head coach, and replaced by former Torino and Hellas Verona coach, Juric.
Fans vented their frustrations at some of the club’s senior players on Wednesday afternoon, and former CEO Lina Souloukou also came under fire in the aftermath.
Roma have since confirmed Souloukou’s resignation with immediate effect.
