Liverpool submitted a formal bid for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili on Wednesday, and if they can strike a deal with Los Che, then it appears the move will go through.

After it was revealed earlier that Mamardashvili would earn €4m per year at Liverpool in net salary, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Georgian shot-stopper has accepted their offer and has given his green light to the move.

He is happy to follow Liverpool’s plan to go out on loan to Bournemouth for the coming year, and then to return and compete with Alisson Becker for the number one spot at Anfield, if that is indeed how it plays out. Mamardashvili had rejected an approach from Saudi Arabia this summer.

Relevo have gone on to detail that he may not even be signed officially by Liverpool this summer, and instead they would agree a right to buy on Mamardashvili. He would then move to Bournemouth on loan this season, which is to avoid a Premier League rule that players cannot be signed and loaned to teams in the same league in the same transfer window.

The Reds’ offer is believed to be in the region of €35m, with Valencia setting an objective of €40m earlier this summer. Valencia are yet to respond to Liverpool’s offer, of which €5m is variables, but if they do accept, then it seems a given the move will go through. Owner Peter Lim has been known to be a tough negotiator though at times.
