Manchester City’s Premier League away fixture against Wolves has been subject to a notable alteration.

Pep Guardiola’s side have enjoyed the perfect start to the new campaign, winning all three of their opening Premier League matches, and lifting the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium following a penalty shoot-out victory over rivals Manchester United.

Manchester City sit top of the Premier League table heading into the September international break, with the Sky Blues bidding to win an unprecedented fifth consecutive English top-flight title this season.

City have beaten Chelsea, Ipswich Town and West Ham in their opening three league fixtures, with Arne Slot’s Liverpool the only other side to have won their opening three matches of the Premier League campaign.

Erling Haaland, who already has seven Premier League goals this season, has scored successive hat-tricks against both West Ham and Ipswich, with the 24-year-old three goals away from the centurion mark.

Manchester City will play seven matches upon returning from the international break, with fixtures across the Premier League, Carabao Cup and newly-formatted league-phase of the UEFA Champions League.

Guardiola’s side will host Inter Milan in the opening fixture of their latest European campaign at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 18 September, with the Blues also facing Slovan Bratislava away on Tuesday 1 September.

The Champions League fixture schedule has forced amendments to the Premier League calendar however, with the Blues’ visit to Wolves having been subject to a late change.

Manchester City’s clash at Molineux has been altered to kick-off at 14:00 (BST) on Sunday 20 October, with the Premier League clash originally scheduled to kick-off at 16:30 (BST).

The meeting between Pep Guardiola and Gary O’Neil’s sides will still be televised on Sky Sports for viewers in the United Kingdom.

A Premier League statement relayed by Manchester City said: “Kick-off time for the game has been brought forward because of the participation of Arsenal in the Champions League the following Tuesday and the movement of the Liverpool v Chelsea league fixture to 16.30pm on Sunday, October 20, from its original 17.30pm time on Saturday, October 19.

“Arsenal’s trip to AFC Bournemouth, which was originally slated for 14.00pm on Sunday, October 20, has now been moved to 17.30pm on Saturday, October 19.”
