Manchester United could make massive progress with their transfer strategy this summer, offloading both Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford in one foul swoop.

To date, it’s been a quiet transfer window to say the least. Aside from Matheus Cunha, Man United have made almost no inroads with new transfers, triggering frustration among concerned fans. Bryan Mbeumo has come the closest to following Cunha to Old Trafford; however, the deal appears to have stalled.

Although there is little advancement on the acquisitions front, it’s important to note that United need to sell some unwanted players as well, particularly if they hope to pull off a major squad overhaul, which seems crucial given their disastrous season.

Fortunately, United may have a juicy opportunity to at least advance their pre-season plans on the sales front.

Cleaning house

Since manager Ruben Amorim took charge last season, it became clear that certain players have no place in his future plans.

Two prominent stars who instantly come to mind are Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.

Having spent half the season on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford has allegedly attracted the interest of several elite clubs due to his improvement in form.

FC Barcelona have been heavily linked with Rashford, with the Mancunian allegedly dreaming of a move to the Blaugranes.

What’s more, Fenerbahce reportedly submitted a €40 million offer for the winger, thereby heating up the transfer race.

Meanwhile, Sancho is linked with a move to Juventus, with the player expected to undergo a medical with the Italian club in the coming days.

While such progress appears promising, United could receive an even bigger boost in their quest to expand their financial strength.

A double swoop

La Gazetta dello Sport reported this morning that Juventus are interested in both Sancho and Rashford, potentially setting up the possibility of a double sale.

“Sancho isn’t the only Englishman circling Juventus these days: among the various inquiries, there’s also been one for Marcus Rashford, also a Manchester United left winger, with a higher valuation (around €50 million) and a contract expiring in 2028,” the report read.

“A more expensive deal and therefore more difficult, at least on paper, to pull off. Juventus will evaluate whether to raise their offer and make the move in the coming days,” the article claimed.

Should this report prove true, it would be a massive boost for United, with the club able to offload two players at once to secure a bumper inflow of funds that could help them to massively accelerate their squad overhaul.
