Udine’s Bluenergy Stadium will host the UEFA Super Cup final later today and it will be a big day for the city, as Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain will lock horns.
Former Udinese star Gerard Deulofeu was asked about the clash and he made it clear that this is a major opportunity for Tottenham to win another trophy.
He said: “It’s very important for Tottenham to win this title. It is going to be tough because PSG are playing very well at the moment. In my opinion, they’re the stronger team but in a final, anything can happen.”
Oliver Bierhoff also spoke about the clash and gave his predictions.
The German said: “You never know at this stage of the season. Tottennham seem like quite a close-knit team but I think PSG have greater quality. They are the favourites at the moment and I predict a 2-1 win over PSG.”
Udine has never hosted such a major European clash before and this comes as due credit to Udinese, who have been the most sustainable football club in Italy and fourth best in Europe, as per the Brand Finance Football Sustainability Perceptions Index.
The Bluenergy Stadium is key to this approach, as it is equipped with 2409 solar panels that generate more than 1000 megawatt hours of electricity annually. This prevents over 6500 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
