Barcelona head coach Xavi may not be the only high-profile figure to depart the club with a view to next season…

That’s if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by.

The subject of ongoings behind the scenes at Barcelona has of course returned to the very forefront of the headlines in Spain over the last 24 hours.

This comes amid claims that the Camp Nou brass are giving fresh consideration to sacking manager Xavi upon the season’s close.

Joan Laporta and co, it is understood, were left infuriated by comments laid out by the club’s headmaster during a press conference this week, which Xavi saw draw fresh attention to the difficult financial situation in which Barca find themselves.

So disappointed were the Blaugrana brass, that the comments in question could ultimately cost Xavi his job.

And yet, as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds over the course of the last few hours in Spain is anything to go by, the 44-year-old may not be the only one in line for an imminent departure from Catalunya’s capital…

As revealed by Barcelona insider Gerard Romero on his official Twitch channel, sporting director Deco, too, has seen his future thrown up in the air.

‘The continuation of Deco is no longer a guarantee,’ it is assured.

And the outflux may not end there, either.

As per ESPN, Barca Atlètic head coach Rafa Márquez is yet to be offered a contract extension by the club.

Despite being tipped as a potential replacement for Xavi with the first-team next season, the Mexican’s current terms with Barcelona are due to expire in the summer.

His place in the Blaugrana’s plans for next season is therefore also unclear, with Márquez himself increasingly eager to make the step up to the field of senior management.
