Barcelona are still in shock after another failed pursuit of Nico Williams, who has signed a new long-term contract at Athletic Club and will not be going anywhere.
Barça were strongly linked with a move for Nico all throughout the past few weeks, but the move collapsed before the club could even meet his release clause.
However, Barcelona would want to look at the positives rather than the negatives. Speaking of which, the failed pursuit of Nico could put two La Masia players in focus.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona could be looking at two La Masia talents seriously after Nico’s failed move.
Dani Rodriguez and Jan Virgili are the two players in question, with both looking to make an impression this summer.

While Dani will miss the early parts of pre-season due to a shoulder injury, he remains a key prospect after showing promise for Juvenil A.
The 19-year-old is a left-footed winger who was unfortunate last year, as injuries and his involvement in the U19 Euros denied him a proper preseason run with the first team.
On the other hand, Jan Virgili, 18, has enjoyed a steady rise since joining Barça from Nastic. Initially starting out with Juvenil A, the Vilassar de Mar native soon made the jump to Barça Atlètic and later earned a call-up to the U19 Euros.
A right-footer, he has the versatility to play both on the wing and in more central roles, making him an interesting option for coach Flick.
As Barcelona look to continue their search for a new winger, both Virgili and Rodriguez serve as excellent alternatives they can always count on this summer.
Flick has other options too, including Ibrahim Diarra and Toni Fernandez, both of whom have shown immense potential as well.
