FC Barcelona are busy making some very important moves in the transfer market ahead of the opening of the 2025 summer transfer window. In this regard, the Catalans have already tasted success, as they have completed their top priority operation of signing the RCD Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

For now, the Blaugranes are working on strengthening their attack, and are already pretty advanced in their operation to sign the Athletic Club forward Nico Williams, with whom they have already reached a personal agreement.

While both of these would be very exciting additions to the Barcelona squad, the arrival of these new players can also create significant problems for some of the existing players.

This is clear in the case of the Spanish goalkeeper, who will take the starting spot, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with three years on his contract, will go down in the pecking order. In such a scenario, one possible solution for the German tactician would be to move the Brazilian into a central attacking midfield position. This will cause Dani Olmo to move further up on the pitch, and compete with Lewandowski and Ferran Torres for centre of the attack.

Fermin Lopez can also lose prominence

Similarly, the second player most affected by this move could be Fermin Lopez, who has performed mainly as an attacking midfielder, where there will be greater competition with the arrival of Raphinha, and as a left winger, a position that will be taken by Nico Williams.
