Manchester United wantaway Marcus Rashford has reportedly attracted the interest of several European suitors as his Old Trafford exit is looming ever closer.
After being dropped from the matchday squad ahead of the Manchester Derby last weekend, the Englishman has become the odd man out at Carrington. The 27-year-old even admitted that his time at the club is drawing to a close, and he’s ready to peacefully walk away without causing any fuss.
At this stage, many believe that the situation is no longer repairable, so his January departure is now inevitable.
According to The Sun, Man United are willing to help the player out by accepting a loan move until the end of the season, since sealing a permanent transfer could be a tough task in the middle of the campaign given the player’s relatively high value.
Nevertheless, the British newspaper insists the Red Devils won’t sanction a move to a direct rival. In other words, the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, who have been suggested as potential suitors, don’t stand a chance of landing the player.
Hence, Rashford will be heading out of England, and will likely end up in Spain, France or Germany.
Moreover, Marca (via Tutto Mercato Web) identifies Barcelona as the England international’s most keen admirer.
The Spanish newspaper recalls how Hansi Flick had tried to lure the striker to Camp Nou in the summer but to no avail, so the Catalans will try their luck again come January when they’ll have a significantly better chance at sealing the deal.
However, the source notes that the Blaugrana could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain who could be on the market for a new attacker. The Ligue 1 champions will first have to offload Randal Kolo Muani (reportedly a Man United transfer target) to make room for a new arrival.
