With the 2024-25 season over, the FC Barcelona players are spending their time away from the Blaugrana club and will return only next month, ahead of the pre-season.

Some of these players are already enjoying their vacations, while others are training and playing with their respective national teams.

Two such players who were in action for their national teams were Gerard Martin and Pablo Torre, who both played as Spain opened its U-23 European Championship campaign with the match against Slovakia.

Gerard Martin substituted at half-time

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that both these players suffered physical problems in this game and had to be substituted. For now, it remains to be seen whether any one of them is suffering from an injury.

The fullback suffered his setback only a few minutes after the start of the game and was visibly hampered by this blow throughout the first half. Still, he was able to complete the first half, and during the half-time break, his coach, Santi Denia, substituted him.

With him on the pitch, his side got a 2-goal lead, but the hosts equalized in the second half, as his substitute, Hugo Bueno, gave away a penalty.

Pablo Torre suffers a problem around the hour mark

On the other hand, Pablo Torre played for almost an hour and played mostly as a playmaker ahead of Turrientes and Javi Guerra. However, he requested a substitution in the 59th minute because of muscle discomfort after suffering a harsh foul from one of his opponents.

For now, both these players will have to be closely monitored, and detailed tests will reveal the extent of the problems they are suffering.

They might have to miss some matches in this competition that has just started for the Spain U-23 team, but hopefully, they will be able to return for the next game without any problems and continue showcasing their talents.
