Lille striker Jonathan David is expected to be one of the most sought-after players in view of the 2025 summer transfer window, and AC Milan have once again been credited with an interest in signing him.

After failing to get a move away this summer, Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) point out that David will be free to sign a pre-contract with another club from January, or perhaps even make a switch during the winter mercato for a cut-price fee given Lille’s now desperate situation in terms of monetising from his sale.

The paper states that Inter are ‘seriously considering’ a move to sign him on a free because he is the right age at 25 and his salary falls within their parameters. The Canadian could join Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Mehdi Taremi to ensure Simone Inzaghi has four quality strikers for his 3-5-2.

However, the same applies to both Milan and Juventus who could both be searching for a striker – be it a starter or a deputy – in around 10 months time. There is likely to be Premier League competition, too.

After a slow start to last season David ended up with 26 goals and nine assists in 47 games. He has three goals and two assists in seven games this season already, across Ligue 1 and the Champions League qualifiers.
