Alexander-Arnold became the defender with the most assists in Premier League history earlier this year when a corner of his was headed in by Diogo Jota in a 3-1 victory over Burnley in February. That took him above teammate Andy Robertson in the assist charts, but Liverpool's most recent win has helped the England international achieve another impressive feat.

The Premier League and Champions League winner now has 100 goal involvements for Liverpool, having set up Luis Diaz's second goal on Saturday with a determined run to the edge of the box before the Colombian finished. He brought the milestone up in his 316th game for the Anfield side, with only Steven Gerrard (92) and Mohamed Salah (72) registering more assists in the Premier League for Liverpool.

Alongside his 81 assists, Alexander-Arnold also has 19 goals, with his best scoring seasons coming in 2019/20 and 2022/23 with four in each. However, he is yet to hit the back of the net this term, instead helping the Merseyside club win four of their opening five league games.

Alexander-Arnold was a scapegoat for criticism during England's run to the Euro 2024 final, having been deployed in central midfield by Gareth Southgate after impressing there under Klopp.

However, he has returned to a more regular right-back function at the start of 2024/25, conjuring up his trademark deliveries from out wide to dangerous effect.

He could be in action when Liverpool play next. They begin their defence of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night at Anfield when West Ham United make the journey up from London for their clash in the third round.
