Football: Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Al Nassr
The transfer window has shut after a mini opening ahead of the summer’s Club World Cup. The window will re-open on 16 June and clubs are continuing to make deals in the interim.
There have been plenty of moves already in the Premier League with Matheus Cunha, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jeremie Frimpong, Liam Delap, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki among the biggest names to switch clubs.
Arsenal hope to bring in Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and Mikel Arteta has made RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Sesko, their No 1 target for a striker.
Chelsea have been rebuffed in their efforts to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens though remain interested in signing him while Liverpool, who have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, are making plans for a Florian Wirtz medical after preparing a fourth bid of £118m.
Over in Manchester, United have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m, and are negotiating with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo with Viktor Gyokeres also on the list of wanted strikers while Manchester City have signed Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves, AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and Lyon’s Rayan Cherki.

Liverpool are hoping to secure a fee of at least £59m to offload striker Darwin Nunez this summer.
The Uruguayan scored five goals in 30 matches this season and has underperformed since signing from Benfica for £85m in 2022.
The Reds are now prepared to take a £26m loss on their initial investment according to reports from TalkSPORT.
Their valuation is said to be based on a January bid received from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, who offered £59m and is the minimum value they will accept to sell Nunez.

Chelsea will not be making a deal for Mike Maignan.
They were offered the goalkeeper from AC Milan and valued him at between €10m and €15m.
There was no official bid for the player but negotiations did not go well with the Blues never considering to pay more than their valuation.
They are happy with the goalkeepers in their squad and would have taken Maignan as a financially sound deal but are now looking to strengthen elsewhere.

Bryan Mbeumo has already been the subject of a bid from Manchester United this summer - but could Tottenham emerge as suitors for the Brentford forward?
With Thomas Frank seemingly the top choice at Spurs to succeed Ange Postecoglou, the Mirror suggest that the manager may be keen to take Mbeumo with him across London if appointed.
Manchester United are considering making a second offer for Bryan Mbeumo but will have to raise their bid significantly to tempt Brentford to sell the forward.
United made a first approach of £45m plus a further £10m in add-ons for the 25-year-old, but it was not close to Brentford’s valuation of the attacker, who is priced in excess of £60m.

Thomas Tuchel has said Jude Bellingham’s behaviour can be “repulsive” during extraordinary comments made about his star player in a radio interview.
Speaking with talkSport in a wide-ranging conversation at St George’s Park, in the wake of a disappointing 3-1 defeat by Senegal in which Bellingham came on as a second-half substitute, Tuchel was asked whether he could understand why some fans think England would be better off without the 21-year-old in the team.
