Signed in the summer of 2023 for over €3.5 million by OL, Paul Akouokou never managed to establish himself in the Rhône. In two seasons, the Finnish-trained midfielder, who has also played in Israel, Angers, and made his mark at Betis, has only clocked up 433 minutes of playing time, with just 125 of those coming last season. Aware of this sporting dead end, the Lyon club is now looking to part ways, favoring a loan deal with partial wage coverage. Real Zaragoza's interest, both serious and well-structured, stands out as the most concrete option to date for the defensive midfielder.
