West Ham United have received a boost in their pursuit of Slavia Prague star El Hadji Malick Diouf.

The Sunday Mirror says talks are continuing between the two clubs. However, Crystal Palace have withdrawn from the race to sign him.

Palace had two offers rejected for Diouf in January, but they have now turned their focus towards signing Ajax’s Borna Sosa.

Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Atalanta have also expressed interest in a deal for the Senegal international, but West Ham are in pole position.

Diouf joined Slavia Prague in January 2024. He has bagged nine goals and four assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.

He played a key role in helping his team win the Czech First League last season, scoring seven goals in 41 games.

Diouf mainly operates as a left-back but can also feature as a left-wing back or winger due to his attacking attributes.

West Ham are looking to sign a long-term successor to Emerson, who will turn 31 next month and has a year remaining on his contract at the London Stadium.

They have identified Diouf as an ideal option, but Slavia Prague want a £21.6m package for him. He has three years remaining on his contract.
