Cochrane spent almost a decade as a youth coach at Spurs earlier in his career and has worked under Frank at Brentford for the past three seasons.

His move is a major boost for Spurs and Frank, who has been very keen to take Cochrane with him, and a blow for Brentford.

After securing a deal for Cochrane, Spurs are now set to seal the appointment of Frank to replace Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs have been locked in talks with Brentford over a compensation package for Frank and his staff.

Brentford head of athletic performance Chris Haslam and first-team analyst Joe Newton are also set to join Frank at Spurs.

Cochrane, who had time at QPR and Millwall during his playing career, stared his professional coaching career at Spurs in 2009 and spent nine years in their academy.

The Londoner then spent three years working in the England youth set-up, coaching their Under-15, U-16 and U-17 sides.

He also worked for a year in the Manchester United academy before joining Brentford.

Mile Jedinak, Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo left Spurs with Postecoglou, while Ryan Mason has taken over as head coach at West Brom.

But Matt Wells and Rob Burch remained at the club.
